Answer
Unsexed means the seller is not guaranteeing whether the tarantula is male or female. It does not mean the spider is juvenile, infertile or more likely to be one sex.
Why spiders are sold unsexed
Small slings can be difficult to sex confidently, and a suitable moult may not yet have been available. Selling as unsexed is more accurate than turning a weak guess into a guarantee.
What it means for lifespan
Male and female lifespans can differ dramatically. If you buy unsexed, accept that the animal may mature as a shorter-lived male.
Sexing later
Keep good moults and examine the relevant structures once the spider is large enough. Ventral appearance can provide clues, but moult sexing is the stronger evidence.
