Price
Confirmed females usually cost more because sex is known and the expected lifespan is longer. Ask how the sex was established, especially on expensive animals.
Mature male behaviour
Mature males often roam more, may feed less and can become leggier with a smaller abdomen. That is normal adult-male biology, not poor care by itself.
For a first keeper
A juvenile or confirmed female is often easier if you want a long-term pet. An unsexed sling is fine when you are happy with either outcome and want to watch the animal grow.
