Answer
A bioactive enclosure can work for species whose moisture needs suit live plants and microfauna, but it is optional. It does not replace water, ventilation or spot cleaning.
Substrate and drainage
Use enough substrate for the tarantula first. A moisture-retentive lower layer can support plants and springtails, but the enclosure should not stay saturated from top to bottom.
Plants
Use non-toxic plants with no pesticide or fertiliser residue. Position roots and hardscape so the spider can still burrow or build its retreat without destabilising heavy objects.
Cleanup crew
Springtails can help consume small organic debris and mould. They will not remove large prey remains, boluses or faeces for you; those still need routine spot cleaning.
Best fit
Bioactive is easiest with moisture-tolerant species and enclosures large enough to support a stable substrate system. Very dry species and tiny sling tubs gain little from the extra complexity.
